This 200-acre park lies just minutes from downtown and offers antsy kids of all ages a break from downtown crowds. The woodsy park features graceful landscaping and flower beds, bridges, ponds, sports fields, and playgrounds-the perfect place for a picnic, a romp with a ball, or a quiet walk. The seasonal Beacon Hill Children’s Farm, located within the park, is a hit with younger kids, who will enjoy visiting with chickens, pigs, and donkeys and goats (open March to October). Pick up soft ice cream cones from Beacon Hill Drive-in, voted best soft-serve for 21 years and just a 5-minute walk from the park.
