Blackstone River Bikeway

Blackstone River State Park, Cumberland, RI

As Rhode Island’s second-longest bike path, the Blackstone River Bikeway features 16.5 miles of trails. More than 11 miles runs from Cumberland to Woonsocket and another 5 miles runs from Pawtucket to Providence. There are both paved and off-road trails that run along the Blackstone River and through tree lined former tow paths. Families can ride bikes, go for walks or runs and enjoy getting outside. Families can explore the wildlife, cross over bridges, see waterfalls and make stops along the way at former old mills that line the river, all just a short distance from downtown Providence. Eventually, this pathway will extend for another 40 miles into Massachusetts.
