Climb onto a horse-drawn carriage, wrap a blanket around your kids (no need to bring your own — they’ve got ’em) and get ready for a gentle ride up the slopes with nothing but snow and starry sky surrounding you. When you reach the top, you’ll have a warm buffet dinner in a charming heated yurt. It’s good ‘ol wholesome family fun, and it’s the dinner sleigh ride at Breckenridge Stables. The Stables also offer scenic and private sleigh rides, both of which are great for families. Remember to dress warm, and bring a bottle of wine if you like some cabernet with your meal; the dinner part is BYOB. During warmer months (from May through September as weather permits), Breckenridge Stables offers scenic trail rides between Peaks 9 and 10. Children ages 3 and younger are permitted to share a saddle with an adult, and children ages 4 to 6 may ride their own horse, which will be guided by a trained staff member (this is a great first-time equestrian experience for little riders).
