A trip to Budapest would be remiss without a visit to its impressive Buda Castle. Glowing in the hilltop overlooking the Danube from the Buda side of the city, the castle was the home to Hungary’s kings since 1265. Besides touring the castle’s royal rooms, part of the grounds are now the Budapest History Museum, the National Szechenyi Library and the Hungarian National Gallery. You can get to the castle from Chain Bridge on the Funicular.
