Buddha Bellies Cooking Class

2-4-3 Kanda Jinbocho, Uekuri Bldg. 2F, Chiyoda

Even the pickiest eaters might be encouraged to try sushi if they make it themselves — and that’s what they’ll get to do in Buddha Bellies’ three-hour courses in sushi making. You’ll learn the history of sushi, and the skills you need to build your own set of nigiri (the deceptively simple looking fish-on-rice sushi pieces) and a nice looking sushi roll — and then get to enjoy the fruits of your labor. The classes are held in an intimate, apartment-like setting, so depending on the size of your party, you may end up with a private lesson.

Instructor Ayuko also offers classes in bento box creation, simple teriyaki and udon noodles, or Japanese sweets and tea for the less-adventurous souls.

Hours
Classes run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Admission
Classes start at $54 per person, and include all ingredients, recipes to take home, a small gift, and your choice of beverage, including beer or sake for adults.
