Buffalo Bill Center of the West

720 Sheridan Ave, Cody, 82414-3428, WY

The Buffalo Bill Center of the West is reason alone to visit Cody, Wyoming. A Smithsonian-Affiliate, it is actually five diverse museums in one: the Buffalo Bill Museum, The Draper Natural History Museum (especially fun for kids), Plains Indian Museum, Whitney Western Art Museum, and the Cody Firearms Museum, the latter of which was reimagined and reopened in 2019.

Highlights for families include Buffalo Bill’s Boyhood Home and the Draper Museum Raptor Experience, where kids can get up close with all kinds of critters.

Hours
Hours vary by month; check the museum’s schedule ahead of your visit.

Admission
Because there’s so much to explore, regular admission includes two days at the museum. It is $19.75 for adults, $18.75 for seniors, $18.25 for students ages 18 and up (with valid student ID) and $13.25 for children ages 6 to 17. Children age 5 and under are free of admission.
