Canada Aviation and Space Museum

11 Aviation Parkway, Ottawa

Located a short 15-minute drive from downtown Ottawa, the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum is a must-see for families who have an interest in aviation and space travel. The main exhibition hall features planes from both World Wars, as well as interactive exhibits and a number of flight simulators. The museum is also home to the Canadarm, a space arm that put Canada on the technological map for space exploration in the early 1980s.

Book ahead to experience a flight over downtown Ottawa in a Cessna Aircraft, which can carry up to three passengers at once. At a cost of only $35 per person, families can soar over Parliament Hill and other downtown attractions.

The museum is open daily (except December 25), with hours changing throughout the year: May 11 to September 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and September 2 to May 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum is closed on Tuesdays between September 2 and May 10.
