Cape Florida Lighthouse

1200 Crandon Blvd, Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Recreation Area, Key Biscayne, FL

The lighthouse at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park dates to 1825 and is the oldest standing structure in Miami Dade county. Bring the kids for free guided tours of the tower and grounds, offered Thursday through Monday at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. It’s 109 steps up to the top, but well worth it for the amazing water views. Kids must be at least 42 inches tall to go to the top. Insider Tip: Avoid Friday visits if possible, as they’re busy with school groups.

Hours
The park is open daily from 8 a.m. until sunset.

Cost
$8 per car for up to eight people or $2 per person for pedestrians and bicyclists
