Captain Timothy Hill House

5122 Main St., Chincoteague Island, VA

Built in 1800, the Captain Timothy Hill House is the oldest house on Chincoteague Hill and listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register. Hill, who was originally from England, decided to stay in Chincoteague after his ship wrecked and he married a local girl in 1822. The tiny log cabin offers a glimpse at the original settlers of Chincoteague. Special tours for groups can be arranged by calling in advance. There are no restrooms at the facility.
