The most popular spot for visitors is Castle Hill, home to the Fisherman’s Bastion, the very regal Buda Castle and 19th century houses and churches, all of which were nearly destroyed during World War II but were lovingly restored. Climbing the steep hill overlooking the Danube River is difficult, so instead take a ride on the Castle Hill Funicular, which is located at the foot of the Chain Bridge. Castle Hill is a World Heritage Site.
