Go medieval in Castle Hill, where the Dragon roller coaster is a highlight. Riders tour a castle’s interior, filled with LEGO characters, and then zoom to an outdoor track with mild descents and turns. At the fun Royal Joust (minimum age 4), riders on their own LEGO horses joust with knights. You can choose your “destiny” on the Knight’s Tournament, in which you sit in a robotic knight’s fist; levels one and two offer fairly mellow rides while level five will get you intensely spinning around and upside down. The outdoor Hideaways play area with nets, ropes and other hands-on fun is a good spot for kids to get some energy out. Little ones will enjoy the LEGO animals along the Enchanted Walk.
At the King’s Market courtyard, shop for toys and costumes; a princess meet-and-greet is scheduled here regularly (don’t go out of your way for it). Wild Woods Golf, a mini golf course, can be experienced for a fee. Look out for the LEGO witch at the Witching Well — I found her enchanting; my four year old wanted nothing to do with her.
