Boston Ave pedestrian overpass between 1st and Archer Street, Tulsa, OK

This is a fun little stop if you’re in the area. In case you’re not familiar with this Tulsa landmark, you might be confused when you find the thirty-inch-diameter brick circle, which certainly doesn’t look like much. That all changes when you step inside. For some reason, the circle encompasses an acoustic marvel — when you stand in the middle of the circle and make a sound, the noise is amplified into a loud echo. Weirder still, if you speak while standing on the center, your voice will sound distorted to those standing outside the circle. It’s one of those mysteries that’s an “experience it to believe it” type of thing. However, it’s really just a ten-minute stop, so it’s up to you whether to make a special trip to see.
