Chutes Cologne

100 Promenade du Parc-des-Chutes, Mansfield

You’ll find Chutes Cologne in Mansfield, Quebec (part of Quebec’s Outaouais Region), which is about a two-hour drive northwest of Ottawa. The park is home to the famous Via Ferrata, a climbing trail that rises more than 1,000 feet along a steep rock wall — the climax of which is a 150-foot cable tightrope over a vertigo-inducing canyon. To take on the Via Ferrata, children must be at least 4 feet, 10 inches tall, and be accompanied by an adult (the youngest climbers are usually around 11 or 12 years old). There’s also an on-site children’s ariel challenge, a series of 13 kid-friendly obstacles, for youngsters ages 5 to 12, and a smaller jungle-gym structure for even younger kids.
