This is the world’s first area devoted to the protection of the jaguar, the largest cat found in the Americas. There’s a small, but effective education center at the preserve, but most of the experience is simply hiking the miles of trails. If you really want to see a jaguar, plan to spend the night here in some of the rustic lodging available to guests. Although actual sightings of jaguar are rare, you’ll hear and maybe see lots of the jungle activity in which the jaguar thrives. You can also rent inner tubes for quick float along the river.
