These giant Beech trees have grown so high, they have nearly intertwined with each other! Located about an hour north of Belfast, the 150-plus trees were planted in the late 1700s as part of the grand entranceway to the Gracehill House estate. The mansion still exists, but is no longer a part of the estate, which is now a golf course. The Dark Hedges were made famous by “Game of Thrones,” with many scenes shot here.

The Dark Hedges have become increasingly more popular with tourists and the crowds have grown with that popularity.

Parking

Free parking is available at a nearby hotel and families can walk to the Dark Hedges, as traffic is banned from the roadway.
