Next to City Hall in Philadelphia, Dilworth Park features a raised lawn with seating areas and shaded spaces, perfect for picnics and relaxation. When weather permits, let the kids splash in the park’s chlorinated fountains, watch a movie outside, or attend a concert… but don’t pass up a visit during the winter months either. The park, which opened in 2014, doubles as the Rothman Ice Rink. Admission is $3 for children ages 10 and under and $4 for adults, and skate rentals are $8. On Sundays, the rink also offers a Learn-to-Skate Program. Hours are 3 to p.m., Monday to Thursday; 3 to 11 p.m. on Friday; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Be sure to grab a bite at Rosa Blanca, an onsite cafe by chef Jose Garces. Menu options include pastries, sandwiches, salads, coffee drinks and hot chocolate — perfect after a spin on the rink!
