In Asia, home to two of the most popular thrill rides in all of the Disney theme parks, the marvels of modern technology help bring the story of ancient cultures of India, Indonesia, Nepal and Thailand to life. Major headliners include Expedition Everest, a mountain coaster set on a dark path for disaster featuring twists, tight turns and a breathtaking final drop (minimum height 44 inches) and Kali River Rapids (minimum height 38 inches), a wet and wild whitewater adventure that is sure to get you both stoked and soaked. FASTPASS+ reservations are available for both attractions.
The entire family will enjoy Flights of Wonder, an awe-inspiring and at times, comical, aviation presentation. You can see more birds — more than 50 exotic species, in fact — at the conclusion of Maharaja Jungle Trek, a self-guided walking tour that also features Komodo dragons, gibbons, Malayan tapirs, fruit bats and Asian tigers. The trek takes about 20 to 30 minutes. It’s best to bring a front pack if you’re walking with an infant. Lockers (small fee) are available near Kali River Rapids. Pack a towel, shoes that can get wet and a poncho or a change of clothes. In case you forget, high-speed dryers are available at the ride’s exit.
