Duomo

via della Canonica, 1, Florence, 50122

When visiting Florence, one cannot pass up an opportunity to visit the Duomo and the Capanile and Baptistery. The imposing church is a stunning apparition when turning a small street corner and stumbling into its glory, with marble of green, white and pink. Lines into the church complex are long, and purchasing tickets in advance is best. Catholics wanting to attend mass may do so at no charge during posted mass times, but do not think you can use this as an entry to tour the building, as security is tight and meant to protect worshippers. It is free to get into the Duomo, but an admission fee is charged to climb to the top of the dome, visit the Baptistery, and see the Campanile.
