Located in Durango, Colorado, the Durango Mountain Resort is a year-round outdoor resort for families. Activities include skiing, snowboarding, tubing, sleigh rides and more in the winter, and zip-lining, mountain biking, hiking and more in the summer. The mountain offers 88 trails, 10 lifts, five terrain parks and more than 1,300 acres of skiable area. A new Burton Riglet Park at Purgatory offers children ages 3 to 6 an area to learn how to ski and snowboard.

Lodging

Families visiting the mountain can stay at the Purgatory Lodge, the Purgatory Village Condo and Hotel, Kendall Mountain, Elos Condominiums, East Rim Condominiums, Peregrine Point, Cascade Village or The Lodge at Tamarron. Visitors can also book homes away from home, like the Elk Point Townhomes and Cantilever Lodge.

Dining

The mountain has three onsite restaurants and five more located at the base of the village area. The eateries offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, with options like pizza, sandwiches, ice cream and more.

Rates

Kids often ski for free at Durango — just check for packages and offers often! Regular rates start from $74 per adult (18 to 64), $57 per young adult (13 to 17) and $43 per kid (6 to 12); kids 5 and under are free.

Getting There

The easiest way to get to the Durango Mountain Resort is to fly into the Durango-La Plata County Airport, which is located 50 minutes from the resort. Take a taxi to the resort and then when needed, use the Transportation Team to help get around Durango and the surrounding areas in Colorado.
