Attraction

El Paso Museum of Art

1 Arts Festival Plaza, El Paso, TX

El Paso’s artistic passion is evident throughout the city, splashed on murals on the sides of buildings and sidewalks. But if you’d like to continue the journey, be sure to stop by this museum. Bonus: it’s free to visitors (you can leave a donation if you’d like).

Because of EP’s location in a border town, exhibits often highlight work from Mexican and American artists, as well as local artists whose borderland identity influences their work. The museum does a significant amount of outreach programming, including artist-guided bike tours to see local street art murals in (if you’d like to explore on your own, be sure to check out Segundo Barrio).

There are also several drop-in hands-on art programs that are free for kids, so check out the website before you go. A separate children’s area allows kids to create their own artwork.
