This historic, nearly 2,500-seat theater dates back to 1928. The chandeliers and opulent walls and ceilings at the Embassy are immediately awe-inspiring upon entering. The tile floors and woodwork throughout are hard not to touch and gaze at.
The theater and attached hotel opened together, but unfortunately the hotel could not be restored as a modern day hotel. Instead it is used as an event space and offers the same amazing décor as the theater. Musicals, comedy shows, concerts and movie screenings are shown at The Embassy Theatre in downtown Fort Wayne throughout the year. Mary Poppins the movie, Jerry Seinfeld, Rent and the Nutcracker are a few performances of note.
