On a hot summer day, there’s no better place to cool off than Emigrant Lake, where you’ll find a swimming area, shaded picnic tables, barbecues, and a horseshoe pit. But the highlight is the 280-foot twin flume water slide that opens from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The slide is $10 for three hours of fun, in addition to the $4 parking fee to access Emigrant Lake. Both the slide and the picnic area by the lake have restroom facilities, while there’s a concession stand at the slide that serves up the standard fare of burgers and hot dogs. The summer months can be quite warm in Ashland, with an average temperature of 88 degrees. There is no better way to beat the heat than an afternoon at Emigrant Lake.
