Attraction

Everglades Holiday Park

21940 Griffin Rd, Fort Lauderdale, FL

Taking an airboat ride is a fantastic way to see the Everglades, and the narrated guided tours at Everglades Holiday Park is a great way to do just that. Tour guides provide Everglades history, talk about the wildlife that live here and discuss the ecosystems that make the Everglades so unique. Of course, guides will do their best to track down some of the Everglades’ more popular residents-yes, alligators-but, remember, these animals live in the wild and don’t show up on command.

Each tour lasts approximately one hour. The airboats are covered so guests aren’t sitting in direct sun. However, the motors that power these boats are very loud and can be a bit much for children up to age 4. To cut some of the noise, try to sit in the front of the boat and bring along ear protection. Tickets for the 60-minute airboat tour also include admission to the Gator Boys Alligator Presentation (a brief, five- to 10-minute show), one free group souvenir photo and one baby gator group photo. Tours depart every 20 minutes, so reservations are not required unless visiting with a large group.
