Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park

Attraction

This national park protects a number of the 365 small islands north of Great Exuma making up Exuma Cays, and provides moorings for boaters who want to explore their beaches, trails, and reefs. The main cay, Warderick Wells, holds the visitor center and its exhibits. On Powerful Beach, you will see the skeleton of a 53-foot sperm whale that died from ingesting a plastic bag.

Nature trails explore more than 7 miles of terrain leading to Boo Boo Hill, the highest point. Loyalist plantation ruins, Pirates Lair, and snorkeling are other highlights of the island. Visitors can find caves and rare life forms on other cays in the park. Some are private or closed to the public.
