Situated by the Niagara River, Fort George served as the headquarters of the Central Division for the British Army, until it was captured by the Americans. Seven months later, the Fort was taken back by the British and later abandon after the war. Not only does this historic Fort deliver beautiful scenery of the Niagara River and surrounding landscape, but it offers a knowledgeable history lesson about the importance of the war of 1812. The fort is open seven days a week, April through October.
