This state park’s main star is Gillette Castle, a crumbling stone castle created by William Gillette, a director, actor and playwright. Built on an 84-acre estate on the Seventh Sister hill, the home was made to look like a medieval castle with 24 rooms. The lands around the castle are not state hiking trails, and visitors can tour the home, as well as walking paths created by Gillette. The castle is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
