Owned by Six Flags, The Great Escape and Splashwater Kingdom is located in Queensbury, New York (upstate, near Lake George). The water park might be the biggest highlight, but the theme park still provides roller coasters, such as Sasquatch, Boomerang, Comet, and Steamin’ Demon–which was just upgraded to include a virtual-reality alien invasion experience! New for 2016 is Greezed Lightnin’, a 1950s-themed thrill ride. Youngsters have their own set of rides to enjoy, too, including Krazy Kars and Krazy Kups.

Many people opt to stay a night for the chance to stay at another attraction: Six Flags Great Escape Lodge and Indoor Waterpark. The hotel, which features a 38,000-square-foot water park, is located directly across the street from the amusement park. Those who live in the area and don’t want to stay overnight can purchase day passes.
