A visit to the sea turtle hatcheries and allowing your children to participate in the care and release of these endangered creatures will surely be a highlight of your trip. The group has six hatcheries through Nayarit and welcomes visitors to teach about the Olive Ridley and Leatherback turtles that lay eggs in this area from June until November. Note that the incubation period is about two months. It’s not guaranteed that a release will happen every day — that’s Mother Nature for you.
