This center provides educational programs focusing on coastal and marine life. Located on a 20-acre protected barrier island, it is home to wildlife and local plants and offers programs for families and children led by naturalists and biologists. Open daily, the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center is free of admission but requests a 45 donation to help support the center. Walking trails, outdoor marine aquariums, a sea turtle rehabilitation program and butterfly garden are all features of the center. Special events take place throughout the year, including sea turtle hatching programs.
