Families looking for an easy hike in the area (without the 1,000 ft drop offs), might want to give Hanging Gardens a try. The trail is well-marked, mostly flat, and easy to find (just a quarter mile east of the Glen Canyon Bridge). To the gardens, it’s approximately 1-mile roundtrip. Some ranger led hikes are sometimes available as well. Do note though that this an exposed trail with little to no shade. Temperatures in the summer can soar above 100 degrees. So, plan accordingly with proper clothing, sunscreen, and plenty of water.
