Harding’s Beach is a local favorite, widely regarded as Chatham’s most family-friendly beach. On average, the waters at Harding’s are 10 degrees warmer than other beaches along the national shoreline. The water conditions along the beach for children are ideal as the water is calmer than at other local beaches. The waves that eventually find themselves crashing along the shore are very mellow and nowhere near as dangerous as some of the other local beaches. The beach itself is huge and accommodates plenty of visitors, many of whom enjoy walking, playing Frisbee, tossing around footballs and knocking out a game of beach bocce. There are multiple lifeguard stations, two parking lots, a variety of food trucks and even a bathhouse with a shower.
