Open year-round, High Falls Gorge provides stunning views of the Adirondacks along scenic walking trails and the Au Sable River. The 700-foot-long gorge entrance is located near Whiteface Mountain Ski Center, and self-guided tours by foot or snowshoe are available. The best part? It’s accessible for all, with both ramps and stairs along the paths.

During your visit, encourage the kids to answer the junior explorer questions posted throughout the gorge. They can turn in their answers for prizes at the end!

After your hike, you can also warm up with marshmallows and hot chocolate by the fire, grab a bite to eat at the River View Cafe, and/or browse the gift shop.
