This is the first national marine preserve in Belize and easily one of the most exciting destinations for snorkeling, diving and swimming with manta rays and sharks. Located just four miles south of Ambergris Caye, you must hire an authorized guide service to take you there from either San Pedro or Caye Caulker. Those approved by government agencies can be found at the Visitor Center on Caribena Street in San Pedro. Some services are via motorboat, but others are on catamarans, which makes a nice morning or afternoon excursion complete with picnic lunch.
