Independence Seaport Museum

211 S. Columbus Blvd., Philadelphia, 19106, PA

As Philadelphia’s only maritime museum, the Independence Seaport Museum offers visitors an educational experience through nautical art, interactive exhibits, workshops and historic displays. It is home to two ships — the cruiser Olympia and the WWII-era Becuna submarine. The Olympia is the oldest steel warship still afloat in the world. The museum also hosts events throughout the year, such as Ghost Tours and Parents Night Out, the latter of which allows parents to drop their kids off for a fun afternoon or evening while they go and finish errands or enjoy date night (fees apply).

The Independence Seaport Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Admission is free for children ages 2 and under.
