The Independence Trail is to Tel Aviv as the Freedom Trail is to Boston. Families can walk the gold-colored trail—officially opened in 2018—to discover 10 historical landmarks that tell the story of the first city in the state of Israel. Stops include The Great Synagogue and Independence Hall.

Opt for a self-guided, iPad tour offered by the Israel Ministry of Tourism and located near the First Kiosk (part of the tour) on Rothschild Boulevard. The kid-friendly tour features games and even selfie options at each spot.
