The Lady of the Lake boat company offers day tours up Lake Chelan that include layovers in Stehekin. Lady of the Lake II is the larger, slower boat, offering a leisurely 9.5-hour tour, while the Lady Express buzzes up and back in under six hours. You can hop off the boat for 60 or 90 minutes (depending on which boat you take) and hang out at Stehekin Landing or do a quick bus tour to Rainbow Falls.

We recommend a weekend or more in Stehekin for a truer experience. Bring your own bikes on the boat for a fee or plan to rent in Stehekin (we brought kids’ bikes but rented adult bikes). Be sure to make boat reservations well in advance for a summer visit.
