Laura Ingalls Wilder Home & Museum

3068 Highway A, Mansfield, MO

The Little House book series has been loved by families since the 1930s when Laura Ingalls Wilder penned the novels at this farmhouse about 30 miles east of Springfield. Most of the home is exactly like it was when Mannie and Laura lived here. A new Wilder Museum opened to the public in March 2016, showcasing more items that belonged to this family, such as Pa’s Fiddle, and several quilts and tools that Mannie worked with. Take time to pay your respects at Laura’s gravesite in the nearby cemetery. Open March to November.
