If you’re in Carlsbad, Calif., just 30 minutes from San Diego, you can’t bypass this mecca for everything LEGO. More than 60 rides, shows and attractions thrill everyone from toddlers to teens (and even parents). There are places to stop and build a masterpiece around every bend, along with a large waterpark, expanded with the creation of Legends of Chima Water Park in 2014.
The centerpiece of the new, three-acre area is Lion Temple Wave Pool, an interactive pool designed for families with young children and highlighted by a 30-foot-tall floating feature. Guests also enjoy Craggers Swamp, a hands-on water play area featuring slides and water cannons, and Eglor’s Build-A-Boat, where children build boats while learning skills, such as adjusting for currents and dodging obstacles, all the while racing against fellow guests. Also don’t miss their newest high-tech, interactive attraction, “Ninjago: The Ride,” where riders are able to “throw” fireballs at digital screens.
