Lincoln Memorial and Reflecting Pool

National Mall, Directly west of the Mall in Potomac Park, Washington, 20037, DC

The Lincoln Memorial and Reflecting Pool are Washington, D.C.’s most well known attractions — and for good reason. If you’re in the Capital City, a stop here is an absolute must.

Here, you’ll find the famous 19-foot-high sculpture of America’s 16th President, Abraham Lincoln (brought to life by Daniel Chester French in 1920). Tourists witness the massive statue as his gaze falls pensively out onto the equally marvelous 2,029-foot-long, 167-foot-wide Reflecting Pool.

The interior of the memorial is absolutely beautiful, with columns, inscriptions (including Lincoln’s famous Gettysburg Address), murals and many other pieces of priceless (and equally symbolic) ornamentation throughout.

The memorial is awe-striking and inspiring, and pays perfect homage to one of America’s greatest presidents. The memorial and reflecting pool are located at the National Mall, which is home to many memorials, monuments and museums.
