Long Sands Beach

Attraction

Long Sands Beach is fronted by residential or vacation homes in York, Maine, along with beach bars, snack stands, and several resorts and hotels — including the Cutty Sark Motel, which practically sits on the sand.

The picturesque beach — which is rocky in some areas — is especially popular for morning and evening strolls, kite flying and boogie boarding. The best time to set up camp is in the morning, before the giant tide rolls in and engulfs the beach later in the day.

In comparison to Short Sands Beach, Long Sands Beach is bigger (hence the name) and quieter, slightly removed from the downtown area of York Village.
