Loop Road

Attraction

An alternate and highly scenic route, this road takes you off Highway 41 for 27 miles and into habitat for raccoons, huge freshwater turtles, raccoons, river otters, and other Big Cypress National Preserve wildlife. It starts off paved at its east end, where it takes a turn off the highway a short distance east of the Miccosukee village, and reconnects with 41 west of the Oasis Visitor Center. About two-thirds of the road at its west end is unpaved and can get too muddy to drive during summer’s rainy season.
