Manatee Village Historical Park

Attraction

Manatee Village Historical Park

1404 Manatee Ave. E., Bradenton, FL

In a park setting of ancient oaks dripping with Spanish moss, the past comes alive through local historic structures such as a one-room schoolhouse, a brick general store, Bat Fogarty Boat Works, a Cracker-Gothic home, a farmhouse, a cow hunter’s bunkhouse (Florida cattlemen eschewed the name “cowboy”) and a circa 1889 church.

Kids can climb aboard a vintage timber locomotive and, in the general store’s museum, look into a children’s turn-of-the-last century bedroom. There are no admission fees, but donations are encouraged.
