Kids and adults alike will love the interactive exhibits in this 65,000-square-foot science center. There are more than 100 exhibits that delve into energy, matter, life and perception. The museum also features educational and entertaining shows in the Oaklawn Foundation Digital Dome Theater and the Tesla Theater Show. Outside, take time to experience the Bob Wheeler Science Skywalk, where you can play music on the Musical Bench, climb on the netting 40 feet in the air or run through the fog party. In addition, the museum sits on 21 acres that feature nature and walking trails. Be sure to grab the latest Scavenger Hunt, which takes visitors inside and out to find the answers to the clues. Once you complete the hunt, return the completed form to the front desk to claim a prize.

Note: There is a lot to do at this attraction, so plan to spend several hours, even the entire day, exploring here. If you do plan to spend a lot of time here, there is an onsite cafe open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Picnic tables also are available throughout the museum grounds.

From Memorial Day through Labor Day, Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. From Labor Day through Memorial Day, Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.

Admission
$10 for adults and $8 for children ages 3 to 12 and seniors age 65 and older. The museum offers reciprocal admission to members of more than 350 Association of Science & Technology Centers worldwide, so, if you have a museum membership at home, be sure to ask if that membership provides free or discounted admission to the Mid America Science Museum.
