The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)

11 West 53rd Street, New York City, 10019, NY

The Museum of Modern Art, or the MoMA, is home to a large collection of modern and contemporary art, with well-known paintings such as van Gogh’s “The Starry Night” and Andy Warhol’s “Gold Marilyn Monroe” among the pieces on display. Sculptures, photographs, films and other types of art are featured, too. Families should visit on days when workshops and events are held. Gallery Talks allow kids to interact with the artwork in creative ways. Galley Guides help families learn the most while visiting the MoMA. And workshops are held on certain days each month, with specific classes for specific age groups teaching kids to paint or write stories about art.

The MoMA is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Admission is $25 for adults, $18 for seniors ages 65 and older, $14 for students and free for children ages 16 and under. Member are free and guests of members are just $5 each.
