For families who are into space and rocket launches, the NASA Wallops Visitor Center is a fun and educational place to visit. Past, present and future displays and rocket exhibits fill this small, self-guided museum. A toddler play zone will keep the younger kids having fun, too. Rocket launches take place at nearby Wallops Island, just 4 miles from the Visitors Center, several times throughout the year. Viewing opportunities are available on a first come, first served basis at the bleachers outside the Visitors Center. An observation deck on top of the building is also open to the public at certain times throughout the year.
Open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; closed on Sunday and Monday.
Admission to the Visitor’s Center is free.
A large, free parking lot is available to visitors.
