National Elk Refuge

675 East Broadway, Jackson, 83001, WY

The largest elk refuge in the world can be explored in the winter by horse-drawn sleighs that will get you within 20 to 30 feet of the elk. A tour guide navigates the expansive reserve that’s also filled with big-horned sheep, bison, mule deer, coyotes, foxes, bison and even moose. Tickets are available at the Jackson Hole Greater Yellowstone Visitor Center, and shuttles depart every 20 to 30 minutes for sleigh rides that are offered from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. During the summer, you can tour the area by car and with tour groups.
