Newberry National Volcanic Monument

1645 Hwy. 20 E, Deschutes National Forest, Bend, OR

Located within the Deschutes National Forest is the Newberry National Volcanic Monument, Paulina Falls and the twin crater lakes, Paulina and East lakes. Located about 45 minutes outside of downtown Bend, this beautiful, tree-lined, blue sky area is filled with campgrounds and hiking and mountain biking trails. There is a boat ramp at the lakes and restrooms can be found at a variety of stops within the forest.

Paulina Falls offers an excellent dirt, hiking trail through a tree-covered area to various viewpoints of the double waterfalls. Families can check out the waterfalls from the top viewpoint, where there are picnic tables and restrooms or walk down the trail to see the waterfalls from below. Both viewpoints offer excellent photo opportunities.

Various parking lots and pull-off stops are situated through the national forest.
