Plenty of backcountry trails and beautiful vistas make up the North Unit, which is quieter and less traveled than the South Unit, making you feel like you’re truly in the wilderness. Make the 14-mile scenic drive and enjoy the rugged sights of the badlands. There’s less wildlife in this unit, but you may see some prairie dogs if you’re paying attention!
