Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture

2316 W 1st Ave, Spokane, WA

This art museum features permanent and visiting exhibits throughout the year. Beautiful contemporary art is showcased, as well as an exhibit that shows the behind the scenes of discovering all different types of artifacts from baby shoes to American Indian artifacts. A few of the visiting exhibits include artists Edward S. Curtis and Syaka Ganz, a behind-the-scenes exhibit of Z Nation (yes, the zombie television show, which happens to be shot in Spokane) and a Titanic exhibit where visitors will feel as though they are boarding the ship upon entering the exhibit. The museum also hosts a juried art festival in early June with more than 150 artists showcasing their pieces. It’s one of the premier events in Spokane.
