Nymphenburg Palace

Schloss Nymphenburg 1, Munich, 80638

This majestic Baroque home features a dramatic entrance and impressive gardens. This is not a quick-visit palace. Instead, plan on spending some time here to explore the grounds and gardens, as well as the interior rooms. A Bavarian duke still resides in the palace today, and you may bump into him strolling around the gardens with his small dog. The grounds features the Old Palace, which today houses the Bavarian National Museum, and the New Palace, which features galleries and Baroque décor that will take your breath away. The smaller Lustheim Palace was used as a hunting lodge and yet is as intricate as the other palaces. Each palace requires separate admission prices, but the gardens are open to the public for free.
